Dani Garza * Per Lei fashion show

It's official! I can now add "Runway Fashion Model" to my resume!

Last Thursday (3/13) I was booked as a runway model for Per Lei Boutique's first ever fashion show. It was a total blast! The boutique is in Media, PA, but the show took place at the Joseph Anthony retreat spa and salon in Glen Mills. They did a fabulous job with my hair and makeup -- I felt like such a star!

I modeled three blue dresses, (all available at Per Lei) all imports from Europe worth between $300 and $500 each! Wow! Here's some fun pictures from the event of me and the other models from the Greer Lange Talent Agency.

The Business of ShowBizness

I've been doing this professionally for a number of years now. And along the way, I've learned a lot of lessons. Some I learned from the advice of others. Some I learned from the mistakes of others. And some I just learned the hard way.

Here's a few I was reminded of yesterday when I was part of a screenplay reading. Luckily, these I learned from OTHERS:

#1 - Never EVER be late. Do I need to list all the reasons why? Many people are counting on you. Many people are waiting to jump at your shot if you don't show up. A casting coordinator I know named Sandy said it best:
"If you're early, you're on time.
If you're on time, you're late.
If you're late, you're fired."

#2 - If you ARE late, don't waste your time, or OURS, with long-winded apologies and reasons why. They know you're late. They don't care why, and now that you're here, the circumstances change and the production in progress must be stopped and altered again. This is an inconvenience to them, and you standing there sputtering excuses is only delaying them further. So apologize quickly and politely, get straight to work and be worth the wait.
